Homework
Homework is a hot topic. Some are for it, some are against it. It is a favorite topic when our students write persuasive essays. You can guess their opinion.
I use homework to help students learn test-taking strategies. We do not have tests in the classroom, except for the annual Stanford-10, so I give the students practice sheets to prepare them.
Some students who do not finish a minimum amount of work may need to complete it at home.
I can provide extra work or resources if a student needs or wants it.
Not Homework
The following are not homework; they are just a natural part of every citizen's life:

Writing
Using numbers
Therefore, they should also be done at home, regardless of what a teacher assigns.
